Calle is often the subject of her work, inventing personas and telling stories that blur boundaries between fiction and reality. This work is part of an ongoing project called "True Stories" (also known as "Autobiographies"). Pairing texts with photographs, Calle appears to be revealing intimate details of her life and the lives of others. The works speak to the vulnerability and trust experienced in relationships, the risks we partake in them, and the social mores that shape private and public lives.
