Bio

A teacher in Salem Public Schools, Ron Neperud later became an art professor at Eastern Washington State College, University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin. He remained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison until his retirement twenty-eight years later. Neperud edited the art section of the Northwest Review from 1959-1961 and has served as co-editor or contributor to texts on art. He published numerous articles on the perception and valuing of art in various publications. In 1959 he was honored with a one person print exhibit at the University of Oregon.

In an artist statement Neperud writes: "Working in the broad context of landscapes, I am particularly interested in edges created by juxtaposing fluid areas of watercolor and by the quality of light struggling to be revealed through foliage."
