Description

Like Eugène Delacroix, Swiss artist Evert van Muyden found his subjects for this masterful pen-and-ink drawing of a tiger with a goat locked in its jaws at the Paris zoo. Animals devouring prey was a motif that spoke to the Romantic fascination with the wild forces of nature.
