Description

Corey Arnold is a photographer and commercial fisherman. Starting as a deckhand in Alaska in 1995, today he captains an ecologically concerned wild sockeye salmon fishing operation based in Graveyard Point, an abandoned cannery complex in Bristol Bay. While beautiful and even playful, Arnold's fishing industry photographs also encourage consideration of environmental issues such as overfishing. Wake and Sea captures the sublime, unpredictable character of the sea and suggests the danger inherent in the relationship between humankind and nature.
