Details

Generally, a planet is any relatively large natural body that revolves in an orbit around the Sun or around some other star and that is not radiating energy from internal nuclear fusion reactions; any natural object orbiting a star that is not a brown dwarf but bigger than an asteroid. Specifically, a planet meets this definition: an object that orbits the sun, is large enough to have become round due to the force of its own gravity, and dominates the neighborhood around its orbit.
