Details

Refers to the style of Arita porcelain made from the beginning of the 18th century onwards, and so named for the port of Imari from where it is shipped. Imari is characterized by dense, crowded decorations based on native textiles and brocades, painted in several colors, typically with a blackish underglaze and strong blues and reds.
